Spring Fling
April 24, 2009

At our Battle Road site, this annual tradition is a great chance to burn off some spring fever and enjoy the fresh air! Parents volunteered their time, food and craft supplies to help make it a big success!

Police sirens are LOUD! That was lesson one for these
3-year-olds who checked out a cruiser from the
Hampton Police Department.

Children experience magnifying their voice over the
police car's loudspeaker, a real treat!

Face painting requires serious concentration
. . . from both artist and canvas!

A pretty flower for a pretty girl.

Rangers from Sandy Bottom Nature Park give the kids a
taste of our natural neighbors, such as this snake.

Hula hoops were a popular station at Spring Fling,
and this girl is no stranger to the art form.

Of course, many of the boys preferred to roll their hoops
instead of wearing them . . .

A real fire engine, from child view!

It's so shiny!

Our infant class visited the festivities as spectators
. . . very intrigued spectators.

A good old-fashioned egg walk
(with good new-fashioned plastic eggs)

Then again, the concept of walking one's egg doesn't
seem so pressing when it's empty!

And what field day would be complete without a sack race?

The kids (along with some helpful parents,
including this dad!) created their own jewelry
out of colored noodles.

Even the 2-year-old class was able to create
noodle necklaces!

Back on the playground, our younger 2-year-olds
and 1-year-olds had their own mini Spring Fling.

Ribbon dancing remains a toddler favorite . . .

. . . and a fun interactive game with your visiting Mommy!

How many toddlers can squeeze into one tunnel? (Three!)

Blotter art was another fun form of expression
at the toddler Spring Fling.
