Holidays at DHCDC
November & December 2008

The staff and children of DHCDC just love the holidays! From Thanksgiving to Hanukkah, Christmas to Kwanzaa, we find many reasons to celebrate. Here is a sampling of our festivities.

Ms. Basley's class makes "Stone Soup" for Thanksgiving, based on the classic story.

Adding the ingredients!

A bit of spice!

Mmmm, we're good cooks!

Pilgrims and Indians await their Thanksgiving feast.

What a meal!

Some very well-dressed Indians.

Ms. Rice's class learns about Hanukkah from staff Endowment & Planned Giving Director Jill Keech.

Mrs. Keech describes the ritual of lighting the menorah.

The children enjoy "matzo ball" donuts.

The children clearly enjoyed their lesson on the
Jewish festival of lights.

C&F bank employees drop off Angel Tree gifts for some of our kids! Look at that packed-full car!

The unloading begins!

Our kids must have been really good this year!

Piles of gifts for very deserving children fill Maggie's office.

Decorating our Battle Road site tree with ornaments
made by our children (naturally!)

Rudolph himself isn't this cute!

Another adorable "reindeer" from Ms. Dell's class.

Kids from our Lincoln Street site sing at City Hall

Doing the Jingle Bell Rock!

Their enthusiasm is infectious!

Brightening everyone's holiday.
